Canal Street Clinic – Mentioned in several In Death books, it offers medical aid to the poor, needy, licensed companions, and indigents of the area; also offers street exams and on-site treatment from its medi-vans. The clinic struggles with budget cuts, though private funding from Roarke and Eve Dallas have made significant improvements.[1] (See also Louise Dimatto)

The clinic was a steady beam of light in a very dark world. The building was unimposing, unless you considered the fact it was the only one on the block with windows that were clean, and walls that were graffiti-free. The waiting area was clean with fresh paint, a spotless rug, and thriving plants. A portion was sectioned off and held-child sized chairs and toys. Louise's office was still small, still cramped.[2]

In Conspiracy in Death, Jan is a nurse there[3], but is murdered[4] after she attacked Louise.[5] In Chaos in Death, Katrina Chu is an aide there while she is studying to be a nurse.[6] Dr. Justin Rosenthall also volunteers time there.[7] In Random in Death, we learn that Dr. Julia Harbough volunteers there twice a month.[8]
