Introduction[]
Delia Peabody's brother, and the youngest of the Peabody children. He calls himself a carpenter, while Delia describes him as a wood artist who builds beautiful furniture and cabinets.[1]
Description[]
- He had a look of open innocence in the eyes of dreamy gray and the thin bony face she associated with martyrs or scholars. His hair was worn in a smooth tail and liberally streaked from the sun; he had a slow, shy smile.[2]
- His hand was the consistency of granite and as gentle as silk.[1]
Personality[]
- He blushes[3]
- Zeke is very laid back, which he attributes to being the youngest child. He is friendly and trusting, even towards beggars, drug addicts, and street hustlers.[4]
- He thinks everyone likes flowers.[5]
Interesting Facts[]
- He was hired by B.D. and Clarissa Branson to custom-build cabinets; he's very attracted to Clarissa.[6]
- Zeke is the first of Delia's family to visit her in New York and is able to sleep anywhere (proof from their camping trips).[7] While he visited, he and Peabody went on the Fly Over Manhattan tour.[8]
- He can see a person's aura and can choose how close he looks; he's a Sensitive.[9]
- Clarissa and B.D. staged an abusive relationship for Zeke's benefit to foster a relationship between Zeke and Clarissa (while he worked for them).[10]
- Zeke thought he killed B.D. when he attempted to help Clarissa. It was actually a droid that he struck.[11]
YANNI[]
- Peabody said Zeke is the 'baby'[1] though, later, she said, "Older siblings have to beat on younger ones. Zeke used to just about drill a hole in my ribs with his finger. I really miss him."[12] In Ceremony in Death, she says she has a brother Jamie's age, which is sixteen.[13]
